300 High Flyers
Pim Wangtechawat was honoured as one of Prestige Magazine’s 300 High Flyers, a distinction celebrating individuals across Asia who are shaping their fields through creativity, leadership, and cultural impact.
A Thai-Chinese writer from Bangkok, Pim Wangtechawat’s short stories, poems, and articles have been published in various websites, literary magazines, and journals worldwide. Her debut fiction novel, The Moon Represents My Heart – published in 2023 by the UK’s OneWorld Publications – was inspired by the author’s personal history. It recounts the heartfelt and hopeful journey of a family of British-Chinese time-travellers that spans decades and continents. The American rights were bought by Blackstone Publishing, with multiple translation rights picked up by international publishers. It was also optioned by 21 Laps Entertainment and Netflix, with actress Gemma Chan attached as producer and potential star. Through her work, Pim aims to tell stories that reflect our shared humanity, and to bring more Asian narratives to the forefront.
Currently at work on her second novel, Pim also has her own mentorship programme for young Thai writers and has been involved in several talks and workshops related to literature, including the Bangkok Literary Festival and the Hong Kong International Literary Festival.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from King’s College London, and graduated with Distinction from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland with a Masters in Creative Writing.
