Bangkok Launch of 'I Dreamed of You'
Pim Wangtechawat celebrates the Bangkok launch of I Dreamed of You
On 28 March 2026, author Pim Wangtechawat celebrated the Bangkok launch of her second novel, I Dreamed of You, with a special in-conversation event at Kinokuniya Siam Paragon.
Conducted in Thai and chaired by acclaimed writer and poet Win Nimman, the event brought together readers for an afternoon exploring the novel's themes of love, longing, family, and identity. Inspired by Wangtechawat's experiences between Bangkok and Edinburgh, I Dreamed of You is a contemporary romance that examines the choices and coincidences that shape our lives and relationships.

During the conversation, Wangtechawat reflected on the distinctly Thai sensibilities woven throughout the novel, discussing how Thai culture, emotional expression, and ideas of love and family informed both the characters and the story. She also spoke about her journey as a writer—from growing up in Bangkok to becoming an internationally published novelist—and how her own experiences have influenced her fiction.
The discussion further explored how love and relationships can be translated into literature, from capturing the quiet complexities of everyday intimacy to writing emotionally authentic characters whose experiences resonate across cultures.
Following the conversation, Wangtechawat answered questions from the audience before signing copies of I Dreamed of You for readers.
Held at one of Bangkok's leading bookshops, the launch marked the novel's homecoming, celebrating its publication with Thai readers in the city where Wangtechawat was born and where much of the story is set. The event also reflected her ongoing commitment to fostering conversations about literature, creativity, and the universal experiences that connect people across cultures.
