The Making of Moon
Join acclaimed author Pim Wangtechawat for an engaging conversation about her debut novel, The Moon Represents My Heart.

In this special talk, Pim Wangtechawat discussed the inspiration behind the book, the craft of writing the novel, and the historical research that helped shape its world. She also shared insights into her novel-writing process and answer audience questions in an interactive Q&A session.
Author Pim Wangtechawat was one of three featured rising literary stars at HKILF Summertime 2024, a five-day programme presented alongside the Hong Kong Book Fair. Joining fellow authors Mirinae Lee and Sheung-King, Wangtechawat took part in a series of events celebrating new fiction, the writing life, and the publishing journey.
A highlight of the festival was the Literary Lounge at Eaton House, where Wangtechawat met readers, signed books, and joined conversations with fellow authors and book lovers in an informal setting that sparked new ideas, collaborations, and connections within the literary community.

Committed to supporting the next generation of writers, Wangtechawat also led a character development workshop, offering practical guidance on creating compelling, emotionally resonant characters. The workshop formed part of the festival's programme for aspiring writers, which also included a session on autofiction led by Sheung-King.
Through panel discussions, workshops, and reader events, Wangtechawat's participation reflected her passion not only for storytelling, but also for mentoring emerging writers and fostering creative communities across Asia.
