Catalyst of Change: Writing Workshop

On 31 January 2025, author Pim Wangtechawat led Catalyst of Change, a creative writing workshop hosted by TK Park, offering aspiring Thai writers practical insights into the journey from manuscript to international publication.

Drawing on her own experience as the internationally published author of The Moon Represents My Heart, Wangtechawat shared the story of her path to publication, from developing her manuscripts to securing literary representation and publishing with a UK publisher. The session provided participants with a behind-the-scenes look at the international publishing industry and explored the opportunities available to Thai writers seeking a global readership.

A key focus of the workshop was the process of pitching books to international literary agents and publishers. Wangtechawat discussed how to identify a novel's strengths, present a compelling book concept, and navigate the submission process, while encouraging participants to think ambitiously about sharing their stories with readers beyond Thailand.

The workshop also featured an interactive session in which participants were invited to present and discuss their own book ideas. Through constructive feedback and open conversation, Wangtechawat encouraged writers to develop confidence in their creative instincts, refine their concepts, and embrace the early stages of the writing process without fear of imperfection.

Hosted by TK Park, Catalyst of Change reflected Wangtechawat's commitment to supporting emerging writers and helping to foster a new generation of Thai authors with the confidence and knowledge to pursue opportunities in the international publishing industry.
