Edinburgh Launch of 'I Dreamed of You'

On 10 March 2026, author Pim Wangtechawat celebrated the Edinburgh launch of her second novel, I Dreamed of You, with an in-conversation event with author Katalina Watt and book signing at Portobello Bookshop.

Inspired by Wangtechawat's years living in Edinburgh while studying for her Master's degree in Creative Writing, I Dreamed of You is a love story spanning Bangkok and Edinburgh, exploring the choices, coincidences, and connections that shape our lives. Returning to the city that helped inspire the novel made the launch a particularly meaningful milestone in its publication journey.

During the event, Wangtechawat discussed the writing of I Dreamed of You, reflecting on the creative process behind her second novel, her approach to writing contemporary romance, and the unique challenges of following a debut. She also shared how her experiences of living in Edinburgh influenced the novel's setting, atmosphere, and emotional heart.

Following the discussion, Wangtechawat took questions from the audience on craft, publishing, and the themes of the novel before signing copies for readers.

As part of the publication celebrations, Wangtechawat also visited Topping & Company Booksellers of Edinburgh, where she signed copies of I Dreamed of You, leaving signed editions available for readers in one of the city's best-loved independent bookshops.

The Edinburgh launch marked a heartfelt return to a city that has played an important role in Wangtechawat's life and writing, celebrating the publication of a novel shaped by the people, places, and memories she found there.
